Accrington 3 U's 1 - Durham's Report Mon 07th Aug 2017 15:35
Accrington Stanley away - shades of deja vu all over again, another dismal performance and another dismal result!
Accrington Vs U's - Durham's Preview Thu 03rd Aug 2017 20:39
Colchester United celebrate 80 years (1937-2017) this season. Exciting times ahead and with the promise of a strong campaign to build upon last season.
U's Vs Accrington - Durham's Preview Fri 23rd Sep 2016 22:04
In the 1980s the team of Accrington Stanley became Nationally famous, probably for the first time since it was reformed in 1968, following a television advertisement for Milk, which brought the Reds considerable coverage and went something like this:

When is a restaurant not a restaurant? When it hasn't been constructed yet! My embarrassment at sending Gerry to a non-existent restaurant (Frankie and Benny’s — other restaurants are available) at Marina Way was compounded when I realised that having changed my mobile telephone number I was unable to contact him immediately. Fortunately, the U’sual came to my aid and one message later Gerry duly arrived at the Jackson’s Wharf to where we had repaired to enjoy a pre-match drink and lunch. After profuse apologies we left the HMS Trincomalee and the Marina now bathed in warm sunshine and walked to the ground.

They have assembled a strong squad, with a number of high profile signings:
Southend Vs U's - Durham's Preview Fri 05th Feb 2016 20:31
After the euphoria and hype of the FA Cup last weekend against Spurs, we return to rather more mundane matters, that of League One survival.
U's 2 Sheffield United 3 - Noah's View Thu 18th Sep 2014 12:51
After Magnus’ dismissal at Brisbane Road and the enforced change of tactics that provoked, I reported that we had discovered the value of having three forwards with searing pace (or should it be ‘Sears-n-pace’) and so it proved again against the Blades, but now with eleven men, with the competent and confident sure footed Frankie Kent making his full home debut enjoying a superb game including some accurate and decisive passing out of defence. Proving that we don't need to hoof the ball to be 'more direct'.
Orient 0 U's 2 - Noah's View Mon 15th Sep 2014 13:01
At last, something interesting to report after the monotony of 'near misses' and strikers that seem to want to walk the ball into the net. The question most U’sual ‘Exiles’ will be asking after four points in two games is “what is Tony Humes doing differently?”.
U's 0 Ipswich 3 - Noah's View Thu 24th Jul 2014 18:35
It was a puzzling U's performance in more ways than one. We met more newcomers than I recall on my first day at senior school all kitted out with numbered shirts with no names. Are we saving on kit purchase costs? Despite the pre-match public address announcements it certainly didn't look like Sanchez Watt wearing number 7 and Darren Ambrose's surprise appearance in that shirt didn't disappoint, albeit that a bewildered South Stand were mystified who it was until a helpful Ipswich Fan (here, I confess, he is a pal of mine) amid our ranks offered clarity. The former Palace, Brum and Town veteran (but still only 30) linked well with Sears and the outstanding Dominic Vose as the U's dominated much of the first half and for 45' we looked like the higher ranked side. Our Tractor Boy guest shuffled nervously in his seat whilst he chewed on a carrot top as an upset did look distinctly on the cards. Relax, we said, "it's only a friendly" but the smell of silage as Holman narrowly shot wide defined the half.
